Employee Spotlight: Jennifer Meltzer

This month’s Employee Spotlight is Jenny! With a wealth of experience in both public service and private practice, Jenny has built an impressive legal career spanning municipal law, civil litigation, and government affairs. She joined McNeelyLaw to stay local while gaining the support of a strong legal team, and we’re lucky to have her!

Jenny was admitted to the bar in 2009 and began her career in private practice, focusing on tort litigation. She later transitioned to the Indiana State Department of Health before moving to the Indiana Attorney General’s Office, where she handled a broad range of civil litigation cases, including constitutional law, employment law, and administrative law. In 2018, she became the City Attorney for the City of Shelbyville, practicing municipal law, property law, and contract law while managing various governmental legal matters.

One of the biggest lessons Jenny has learned throughout her career is that law school provides the foundation, but real legal practice comes from hands-on experience. She is incredibly grateful for the mentors who have guided her and takes pride in mentoring new attorneys and law students, helping them grow and succeed in their legal careers.

Outside of work, Jenny loves spending time with her family, being outdoors, and traveling whenever time allows. We’re excited to have Jenny as part of the McNeelyLaw team and appreciate all the knowledge and experience she brings! If you’d like to learn more about her, check out her bio HERE.
